Zanthia Legacy Generation 2 Chapter 4- Help with Love?

July 21, 2010

The house was dead quiet after Maia and Carlos passed away, I mean, the family had been trying so hard to deal with Carlos’ passing that Maia’s passing just made them even more stressed. So stressed and anxious that they decided to redecorate the lounge, dining room and kitchen, and hang new red wallpaper in their parents’ old room, because the out of place stonework reminded them so much of Maia’s creative antics. The old lounge became an art room/study room for the family to create their masterpieces in. They removed the TV as it disrupted the flow of the room.

The kitchen was separated from the lounge, and when Domingo moved out with his wife (who nobody met, or asked the name of), he took the fridge with him. This picture was taken before the arrival of the replacement fridge.

After Devon helped the movers with the fridge, they finished at 11:45 pm so he grabbed himself some leftovers that Juanita had been keeping in a chilly bin.

He was joined by Orlando, who was sneaking out of bed for a midnight snack of cake. “Can’t sleep, Orlando?” Devon asked. “Are you feeling fine? Grandma Maia will stay on forever in our hearts, you know, she isn’t really gone when we have, uh, recollections of her person.” Orlando just sat in silence, eating cake. Devon just shrugged his shoulders.

Fioruccio’s neurotic feelings got the better of him, but once that brush hit canvas, he was relieved, and more interested in not getting paint on his PJs so Mum wouldn’t find out. Devon let this slide again, for they had been through great loss.

Which leaves to absent-mindedness, obviously, someone left the computer outside in all the midst of the makeover! A very tired Great-Great-Grandmother-ghost Maia haunted it so passing kleptos would not pinch it. And she knows kleptomania well, does our oldest ghoul. Being dead must be tiring.

So, as she has a habit of doing, she crashed on one of the kids’ beds, namely Orlando’s bed, but Evil Sims aren’t bothered by ghosts, no matter how friendly they are. Orlando and Fioruccio were first on the bus to school, looking a bit forlorn. Their ride was silent all the way.

Poor Alejandra slept in and had to catch her ride to her first day of work as a Test Subject.

Not much else happened that day, once the young ones were gone, the older Sims just spent the day painting and lying on their bed. How interesting! Juanita had a headache from crying children so she took painkillers and slept all morning.

Orlando came home and snuck in sheepishly to do his homework. His clothes had turned all black and he was sporting copious amounts of black eyeliner. The tips of his hair were dyed red too.

Alejandra had a rather slow day at work so, that evening after dinner, she saw her older brother Alfonso at his house, which was between Juanita’s house and Esmeralda’s house.

“Do you plan on marrying someone someday, Alejandra?” Alfonso asked his sister, who replied “No, never, I have sold my body to science, and I may be infertile.” Alfonso looked to the sky and stated “But I’m no scientist. I’m unemployed. The job market is hard to get into for me at the moment, so I need to get married so when the market opens up again, we will have two incomes.”Alejandra knew what he meant right away. “You’re getting baby jitters, aren’t you, Alfonso?” She asked.

Alfonso stopped, scratched his neck and sighed “Yes.

Coby Mueller’s way to old to produce offspring and Esmeralda’s too lazy, I haven’t heard from Domingo in ages and I really want to produce cousins for Fioruccio and Orlando. I need a woman, fast.” Alejandra scratched her chin and stated “We have a couple of spare beds in our house. You can hole up here, I’m pretty sure Juanita wouldn’t mind, being that we got along well as kids.”

Luckily, Juanita was just waking up when Alfonso and Alejandra got home, so she just nodded, had a glass of milk and saw Devon.

“You look great there, Devon. I am amazed at how you cope with such a stressful time. Thanks for helping the children get to bed, get to school and do their homework. Do you think Orlando got his new do at school?”Juanita asked.
“Yes, honey, it’s a craze at the moment, with all those horror movies on TV.” Devon replied. “I am so proud of your sister, Alejandra, for achieving Dux at her school and going into the Science field. Though they should watch their backs- she inherited your grandmother’s infamous trait. Now she’s helping Alfonso find love and make cousins, how nice.”

“You’re nice, Devon. In fact, you’re a way better picture than the TV can ever give.” Juanita complimented. “Let’s go and lie down on the bed.”. . .

DOT DOT DOT!

Zzzzzzzzz Zzzzzzzzzzz Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The next day, Fioruccio and Orlando were getting ready for school, though Fioruccio was only in his PJs when he cheered up Orlando, who was surprisingly thankful for it.

Then Juanita drove Domingo to the park. Alejandra was at work. Juanita told him “I heard it took your brother 8 hours to fall in love. He was naughty. You must be in love before sunset. And with the first girl you talk to. Then I will honour a private wedding at home.”

It was a tough challenge, but Zanthias are known to be courageous.

Dang! A teenager, he thought. But he struck up conversation with her right away, wanting to keep his place in the house. “Hi, I’m Devon Zanthia.” He introduced. She replied “I know the Zanthia name, my aunty works in the art gallery. Many of Maia’s paintings are in our collection. My name is Mehrtens Gugenheim. My parents want me to be evil, but I’m too friendly for that. I see you’re Friendly too!”

They talked about personality, and favourite things, and were having a great time until the age question popped up. “Aren’t you almighty young?” Alfonso asked.

“Actually, it’s my birthday today, but my mum is evil so she forgets it so I ran away to the park with my sister to get some air. The good hairdresser left town and we got this stupid one who only has red hair dye. I hope when I grow up I will get my white hair back. One day, I want to dye it blue.”

“When you grow up today, then I’ll officially court you.” Alfonso promised. “And by sundown.”

Will the Zanthias have another family member, or more?

Will Alfonso get to stay in the house?

Generation 2- Chapter 3- Evil Sims, Arty Sims and Ghostie Sims.

July 16, 2010

“Oh noes, there is an evil child after mah blood!” The maid panics, holding her heart and breathing heavily. Orlando contemplates doom whilst someone works out in the background.

Alejandra plays with the new toddler, Fioruccio. She makes up a fascinating story about bears but it is copyrighted to her so we will not write it here. Their bond gets stronger.

Orlando loves his new pink and purple bed and finds it very comfortable. He has sweet dreams about wicked stuff to do to the neighbourhood goldfish. He wonders when the neighbourhood will get REAL pets like cats and dogs… but only when that is avaliable and the Creator is as rich as you are, dahling.

Devon’s Never Nude trait makes for a Ned-Flanders style bath, with his shorts on! He is the only one so far with this trait, and it is quite hilarious to see him bathe in such a state. That is what comes with an elated sense of embarrassment.

Alejandra brings a DemonSim home with her from school, she says that the girl is interesting and has a deep passion for art like she does. They sit together doing their homework and chatting about how neither of them will ever leave their family homes, as the world was not meant for those as creative and beautiful as them. They’re not really emos though, just interesting sorts.

MORE fitness! “Yup, these old bones like to be rattled a bit on the treadmill.” Maia comments. Another certificate is on the wall, but I can’t make out what it is for. Probably art.

A typical Zanthia morning, chow time, reading time and time for Maia to cruise the house before the school bus comes.

Domingo spies a new girl in town and closes in on her. His suave voice and charm, in, only a few hours led to…

ENGAGEMENT?! What the hell? At least the sun had a chance to go down, on your BACHELORHOOD! What a slick mover!

Followed by a quickee wedding and a discussion of fake noses. “Are you a Cupid under an assumed nose?” She asks him, and he laughs.

Nothing says family bonding like swimming… eh Mr Insanity? Juanita watches him like a good parent would, as Devon swims around, showin’ his abs.

Carlos got up from his grandpa nap and floated to the mirror. FLOATED? ‘There be somethin’ wrong here’, he thought, without care for proper grammar. ‘Oh, that’s right, I’m about 120 now, it’s my time to die. But I dearly love my kids but I think the evil one must have poisoned me in my sleep or something.’

“You make a fine ghost” says Grim. “You have lived a great life, Carlos, and I congratulate you on your fine offspring. It’s time to join Grandma Maia in the nightly haunt.”

“I solemnly swear to look over my children with Grandma Maia. But please forgive Orlando for poisoning me.” Carlos pleads.”Orlando never did anything to hurt you, he loves and respects you, Carlos. Come to your urn and we will let your family bury your earthly ashes.” Grim replies, so Carlos accepts. “It’s my time.”

The family mourns a great man. Though Carlos never got his Lifetime Wish, for he was busy looking after the grandkids, he got a better tombstone than Grandma’s. Maia misses her husband the most.

Alejandra consoles her mum, giving her some wise words as one of the kids (I forgot who) plays the xylophone. No, it is NOT a glockenspiel.

She puts her emotional pain into helping Juanita stay in tip-top shape. Little Orlando passes by, sad. His negative energy wells deep within his brain, as he seeks something to take it out on.

Grandma Maia comes and checks up on her dear family, and how they are coping. She thinks they are doing quite well, but is not surprised. At least they will have the ghosts of their elders to console.

Maia takes some time alone with the headstone for private grief. This helps her out majorly, as it gives her inner peace that Carlos will be happier not stressing over evil Orlando.

Despite Alejandra becoming an adult, Carlos weighs heavy on their minds. But that is expected for a close-knit family. They’re still managing their grief pretty well, the house hasn’t be burned down yet.

Fioruccio’s Birthday! Hopefully this will cheer them up! Be happy! So, now it’s Makeover Time!

Alejandra gets a smart outfit to accentuate her brain power. She feels happy and confident about it, and ready to leap into adulthood, but not ready to leave the house. Not yet.

Fioruccio also looks Smart. But I don’t think he’s a genius. His traits are withheld for a surprise! (Same with Alejandra’s traits.)

But the birthday boom turns into deathday gloom. Looks like Maia could not stand being without Carlos so Father Time and Grim came a knockin’. She pleads for her life, but has achieved her Lifetime Wish and maxed the Athletic skill, so she really has no excuse. She learns to accept inevitability, and goes to her husband in the garden.

She gets a Monument for being a Monumental Mother (but that word has ‘mental’ in it!)

But we’ll leave on an upbeat… Juanita’s transition from Young Adult into Adult.

See the next chapter for more Zanthia antics!

Generation 2- Chapter 2

November 6, 2009

“Oh yes, Mister Shylar, you move your knights well but you shall succumb to my superior intellect.” Alejandra thinks as she sits down for a post-pool game of chess. She is not annoyed by the fact that she will not inherit the house and become heiress, in fact she doesn’t even know if she would reproduce at all. Screenshot-2So, uh, she plays chess in her togs. The reasoning may not be clear but she will have some good reason why she is doing so. Jeez what a silly sentence.

Screenshot-3No, Domingo did not wet himself, he just did what a lot of Zanthias seem to be doing of late, he broke the dishwasher. And he is trying to clean up the puddles until the repairman/repairwoman can come and fix it. He looks at the window and wonders why the window doesn’t break like the dishwasher.

Screenshot-4“Domingo, you’re lucky, you got the art gene.” Alejandra complimented. “Do you want to get married?” Domingo thought, and replied; “Well, Alfonso isn’t married to Vanessa Espinosa so I definately want to marry someone so I can beat him. ” Esmeralda scratched her leg and replied “Well, I want to ask Juanita if I can stay here until I achieve my dreams and then I could go into a nice retirement villa somewhere.” Domingo just nodded in silent agreement.

Screenshot-6In an unusual twist of events, Devon ends up sleeping with Carlos. Men, I will never understand them, especially SimMen. Oh well, at least in-laws are bonding (but in a kinda creepyish way)

Screenshot-10While Alejandra and Juanita are locked in an intense battle of wit…

Screenshot-15they are quickly called away for a DOUBLE birthday. Devon moves into Adulthood and Domingo becomes a young adult behind him.

Screenshot-17

“Your babies are cute, Orlando and Fioruccio are the best two young lads I have met in my life. Must be our genes.” Domingo explained. Carlos ate his cake and smiled sneakily, remembering the days before he met Maia, when he was a free, flirty young man that girls could not keep their eyes off.  Devon interrupts his thought by responding “I hope one of them can understand quantam physics.” Alejandra smirked to herself, that was a secret she was keeping to tell everyone on her deathbed, if they still cared about her.

Screenshot-19 Domingo was given a suave look, I think his fifth trait was Flirty so hopefully he will be the new babe on the block (after Carlos) but you might need to work on those eyebrows, man, you can’t go around looking like that and be Mr Swank.

Screenshot-20“Ocne, no backspace… once upon a Simiverse, there was a bee with a really large sting and really small wings.” Juanita thought, then thought again, that concept had been done, both on Dumbo and Finding Nemo! Thank goodness she’s only practicing her writing and enjoying the view from the large window in front of her.

Screenshot-24“NOBODY ELSE CLEANS THE TOILET AROUND HERE!” Maia grumbles, showing signs of age. “AND I KEEP SEEING THE WALLS DISAPPEARING, WHAT’S WRONG WITH THAT?” Don’t worry, Maia, Alejandra’s a trained optician in her teenage years, she can help you get some nice contact lenses.

Screenshot-31Alejandra wants to be a Robot Cross-Breeder so she is working on the family garden. She finds it nice and relaxing to get outdoors and watch the plants grow day by day. Away from Domingo anyway, that guy has been starting to practice his moves on his younger sister!

Screenshot-34But Fioruccio’s birthday came around while Orlando looks up at Maia. Ooh ze sparkles!

Screenshot-36FIORUCCIO HAS HAIR! And the brothers play together in peace. Ah… peace. That won’t last, they’re Sims. “Mum and Dad love me.” Orlando stated, being the talking toddler. “And they love you too.” Fioruccio replied with a giggle and a high A flat. He already knew. Perhaps our virtuoso is trying to speak through music? Or is he looking at the nice, big, red couch?

Screenshot-110“Let’s think about ourselves and hold hands honey” Maia says, and Carlos agrees to have a cute old romantic moment of nostalgia.

Screenshot-116Carlos then goes and composes a song about his undying love for Maia. Talking about undying, aren’t you, like, 115, Señor Gonzalez? “Yes, I’m about that, and I’m still alive and kicking. You’ll see, I’ll live forever.” Doubt it, you got rid of your Death Flowers hehehehe. I think you may want to think about moving on before you see evil spawn. Of course, Carlos can not hear me, so he goes on living.

Screenshot-118Instead he goes and dyes his hair red and yellow, the colours of España. And a new, more swirly style.

Screenshot-119It was lucky that Devon didn’t laugh at his father in law, probably because (hemhem) of their secret? No, there’s no secret. Devon was too tired and the beds are similar so he crashed in the wrong one by accident.

Screenshot-129Ooh, a birthday, whose? Juanita or Orlando? Or maybe Alejandra?

Screenshot-132One very awkward growth spurt later for Orlando… (spaghetti legs)

Screenshot-135And he gets one of the most interesting traits in all of SimLand- EVIL (mwahahaha) and his first wicked deed is to break the dishwasher. “Mwahahaha now you suckers have to use the sink old school!”

Screenshot-136“Oh no, an evil child! He made the sink break too!” Carlos frets. “I should not have dedicated my married life to family, athletics and my garden, it is increasing my life too much!”

Oh, deary me, Carlos, enjoy your (loooooong) elderhood, because soon it’ll be snatched away from you!

Will Carlos pass on before or after his wife? How will the family cope with the new child?

CHECK IT OUT LATER ON THE NEXT INSTALLMENT OF THE ZANTHIA LEGACY!

Zanthia Legacy Generation 2 Chapter 1- Juanita the Heiress

September 9, 2009

In this chapter we welcome Juanita Zanthia as the heiress of the legacy. Esmeralda has married Coby Mueller and taken his name, so she is not officially a Zanthia but she is still family. Looks like our Alfonso does not wish to approve of Devon fliriting with Juanita, or perhaps he does not want to let go of his big sister yet. Also, as you may notice, Juanita’s wearing some maternity clothes so Alfonso may think she’s rushing into this relationship a little too fast. What he doesn’t realise is that Juanita thinks life’s to short to wait around.Screenshot-933In the other house (where I sent Juanita and Devon away on their honeymoon to do some, uh, as they say in Mamma Mia, “dot dot dot”) Maia ages up into an old woman, but she is happy that she has a nice family. Esmeralda and Coby Mueller now live here.

Screenshot-935

Screenshot-936Dear old Maia has a bit of a Fashion Fail here, except I didn’t think it was TOO tragic so I continued. She is ready to join Carlos in her elderhood and enjoy her expanding family. Back inside the Zanthia household, Domingo was criticising Alejandra of being an insufferable know-it-all because she beat him in a chess match. Alejandra listens with a criticising ear.

Screenshot-948 ‘She knows that it’s not worth arguing with her elder brother so she takes a dip in the family pool instead, meditating on what a stupid, arrogant jerk he is, and how she looks great in her purple-pink togs (not exactly what people will think she would ponder, huh?) but they are the latest technology in swimwear, so, hmm….

Screenshot-949

Carlos is immediately excited about the little life growing inside Juanita’s womb, he reckons the child will be as cute as a teddy bear because it will have some of his genes. Good luck, Carlos, but remember that you AND Devon have black hair!

Screenshot-951

CUE GRANDMA… oooh it kicked! I wonder what gender it is? Ooh I hope Devon is giving you lots of massages! (He is)

Screenshot-952

“Well mum, Granny bodies are high-mantinence, so you better stay fit!” Juanita replies, and gets Maia on the treadmill. Maia loves to agree, note the matching athletic wear, they can really bond over the treadmill these days.

Screenshot-954Domingo, annoyed that Alejandra snubbed him after he criticised her, did his homework with all his might that afternoon, encouraged to pass her in school and get on that honour roll to show that little Alejandra who’s boss (come on, isn’t she only a child? I don’t think it matters much in this family)

Screenshot-955

Maia can’t get enough of the ol’ treadmill lately, especially since she maxed out the Athletic skill (her certificate is shown on the wall) she has felt more confident in her life and loves to excercise too much today.

Screenshot-959

Esmeralda gossips to her mother about how rude Domigo has been lately to her, saying that she really didn’t mind but she is worried about the ‘lesser-willed, less-intelligent’ family members (huh, so he was telling the truth?) especially Devon, who seemed to be void of all intelligence whatsoever. Don’t worry, Esmeralda

Screenshot-963

It’s Baby Time! Juanita brought her brothers and parents to the hospital but was only allowed to have Devon with her (here he is about to go inside). Maia and Carlos are arguing what milk they should give this new baby, organic or powdered formula. Domingo and Alfonso just have a friendly chat. It is late at night and the police excuse them for such an urgent family emergency that they do not show up. Screenshot-965

All they do is read anyway, no graffitti or burglary from these (geek) teens. Especially as one is thinking about school and the other is thinking about the politics of image displayed in popular magazines.

Screenshot-966

The first Generation 2 child is born, young Orlando Zanthia who is an insane artist who likes pop music, Stu Suprise and Blue. He sleeps in the same room as his parents while Esmeralda, Alfonso and Domingo are still under the same roof.Screenshot-967

Alfonso takes a fancy to the young maid, Vanessa Espinosa, and chats her up in his PJs. Vanessa is half Fijian and half Spanish with sun-bleached hair. She forgets about the unmade bed to talk to Alfonso, so she must be interested.Screenshot-975

Vanessa tells Alfonso that Esmeralda is broke, so Alfonso rushes off and checks up on his big sister, and it turns out she is doing fine and has a new computer (Mac, Windows or Linux, we don’t know, but she likes it). Also, Esmeralda has maxed out her logic skill, but Alfonso feel jealous.Screenshot-978

Vanessa stays and she boogies down with Alfonso when they return, while Carlos does not want his head in the frame whatsoever.Screenshot-980

The Men Of The House bond over some fardening (that means gardening with your father, a Zanthia neologism) the native Zanthias are in their pyjamas so poor Devon feels a little strange, but he gets over himself and helps with the cabbages.

Screenshot-988

Alfonso decides to call Vanessa over and she agrees to come.Screenshot-990

He waits and finds a rock, thinking about how soon he will see his friend.Screenshot-991

But as they day gets later, she doesn’t show. Alfonso begins to worry about her, Domingo comes and hangs by the slide and says “I hear she had an aunt’s funeral in Valencia so it was so serious she couldn’t see you, she didn’t even have time to ring because she was so gripped with grief. She’s OK, and she’s coming to see you when she returns.” Alfonso feels a little more relaxed about it, yet sad for Vanessa at the same time.

Screenshot-992

He rings to check up on her and they have a looong talk about life and death, and he uses his intellect to calm her mind, she is very thankful to have a friend like Alfonso, but does not see his ulterior motives.

Screenshot-996

Inside, Alejandra’s chess game is interrupted by her birthday.

Screenshot-1002

Alfonso, painting his feelings out, is also given the sparkles treatment. Maia plays the hooter.

Screenshot-1005

Alejandra is first for the makeover room, she is dressed in blue, her favourite colour. She bears the Zanthia ‘do, and Grandma Maia’s Kelptomaniac trait.Screenshot-1008

Alfonso too, I gave him a casual, carefree look, even though he’s Neurotic (this is from worrying about Vanessa). He goes for the friendly biker look, even though he looks grumpy, that was the studio flash.

Screenshot-1009

That afternoon, Vanessa comes back and rushes into his arms, thanking him for all his help during her troubling time. He is just relieved to find out she is fine, but takes the time to fall in love.

Screenshot-1014

And Alfonso decides to move out so he and Vanessa can continue their relationship away from the prying eyes of the family.

Screenshot-1019It was about time Maia had a new oufit, she chose this dress. It looks like she doesn’t really care about what she wears, as long as it’s sweat and paint retardent.

Screenshot-1024

Maia is ready in time for Orlando’s birthday, a private family party.

Screenshot-1026

Even the ghosts come and celebrate, and Orlando has A FULL HEAD OF HAIR!!!!!!!!! He is the second Zanthia child (Juanita was the first), and the first Zanthia boy, to be a fully haired toddler. He is hiding from the camera behind his Mum.

Screenshot-1029The family sits down for cake…

Screenshot-1031

except for carbophobic Juanita, underage xylophoniac Orlando and “living impared” Grandma Maia.

Screenshot-1032

Devon decides to read Orlando an Art book, preparing him for the burden of painting masterpieces ahead of him. With his insanity, he may as well be the next big thing in the art world.

Screenshot-1033

Juanita takes to teaching young Orlando how to walk and to wearing an alternative t-shirt to do so (perhaps Orlando may get muddy feet?)

Screenshot-1039

Also, she taught him to talk, and Devon asked, “what do I get to train Orlando in apart from art?” and got “Well, since you are so keen, take care of the waste management!” Devon thought this meant teaching Orlando how to recycle, so he accepted, but he wasn’t to impressed to discover that “waste management” was a euphamism for potty training!

Screenshot-1048

Grandma Maia came back for a visit this evening to have a check up on the family. Looks like Juanita DID have some cake and look what it did to her!

Screenshot-1052

and she enjoyed playing ‘Space Age Hover Chair” with her oblivious daughter, who was so engrossed in her book.

Screenshot-1043

Screenshot-1055Uh… what are you and Carlos doing outside the hospital, Maia, talking about flowers? Ah, yes! Of course Juanita didn’t get fat, she was excercising while the family was eating!

Screenshot-1057

Welcome to the family, Fioruccio Zanthia, named after one of your distant Italian relatives, our couch potato virtuoso, which means you will like spending time watching music videos. He likes Indie music, brown and ratatouille (and Remy?)

Will Fioruccio be a bald toddler or a haired one? Will Esmeralda and Alfonso reproduce? Will Juanita have any more babies?

Find out in the next chapter!

Zanthia Legacy Chapter 5-Too Many Kids, Too Many Birthdays

September 7, 2009

WELCOME ALEJANDRA!

Screenshot-651It seems you have been born into a nice family, a harmonious one with a spirit to guide and counsel you through your years. You have been born a Genius, and have inherited your Excitable trait from your father Carlos. He wanted to call you Alejandro, but we found out you were a girl so you became Alejandra. Guess he didn’t see Maia chowing down on those watermelons!

Screenshot-652There is one thing about quiet, studious kids is that you can never tell just quite what they’re plotting…

Screenshot-656THIS time it was artworks… well, never mind. Thought I may have had something exciting going on there. Anyway, back to the story.

Screenshot-663Maia is glad her pregnancy days are over, she begins to concentrate on her Athletic skill between bottle feeds and nappy changes. Also, she is well used to back pain from being athletic and a mother. With only one kid needing intense care (Domingo had done his toddler training), she feels a big weight has been lifted.

Screenshot-666Domingo ages up into some sensible blue pyjamas. Not to be outdone by his siblings, he begs me (the Simmer Goddess) to be a genius. Because I quite like the blue PJs I grant his wish (which is also his parents’ wish too)

Screenshot-670The birthdays keep coming as Esmeralda becomes a teenager and finally gets to interact with her baby sister (no sparkly picture this time sorry). She becomes very family orientated so she wants to snuggle the baby when she’s not crying (trust me, Alejandra was quite noisy!) but also begins to help out with babysitting.

Screenshot-684Since the rest of that day was quite a snore (well, it’s just the kids getting on the honour roll and daily life as it usually goes on), the next day our Alejandra grows up, as bald as a snooker ball. what’s up with hairless toddlers these days, an underground nuclear reactor?

Screenshot-697Screenshot-696Alfonso becomes a Teenager with a black T-shirt (he doesn’t want to wear his favourite colour all the time) and Esmeralda and Domingo dress conservatively for school too. They are first on the school bus route. I will disclose Alfonso’s fourth trait later.Screenshot-719Carlos decides to take up a bit of gardening in his twilight years, as he wants to leave some plants for his kids to remember him by once he’s gone (Grandma Maia has a painting in the kitchen). He is also trying to build up enough skill to plant the Death Flower.

Screenshot-703Even ghosts need training! Work it! Carlos trains Grandma and Maia trains Alfonso (who is reluctant) in this Family Gym session.

Screenshot-735Juanita’s bikini-painting session is interrupted by her birthday, she grows up into…

Screenshot-742a rather flirty young girl! Look, he isn’t too bad looking in hy humble opinion, and I think he likes tanned girls. I didn’t have to change the outfit, this is what Juanita came with. The man’s name is Devon.

Screenshot-740Alejandra was the next to age up- to childhood. She inherits Carlos’ black hair (yay!) and the same style as her sisters. Her third trait remains a secret.

Screenshot-745Esmeralda was Father Time’s next victim (there is a rumour tha Father Time is having it off with Mother Nature instead of Mother Earth) and grew up into young adulthood too. Her LTW is Chess Grand Champion.

Screenshot-760Juanita proposes to Devon while Esmeralda thinks of fridges. Devon nearly fainted but h accepts, and they have a private wedding. Devon’s traits: Excitable, Bookworm, Hopeless Romanic, Never Nude, Mooch. He likes Kids’ Music, Pink and Stu Surprise.

Screenshot-767They move out and make sweet sweet love (because they can’t do it with all the family around, that’ll just be annoying!) but Juanita is still a Zanthia and she can still be an heir!

(ps. Domingo also became a teenager but the lazy photographer lost the photo!)

Next chapter: the announcement of which lucky Zanthia gets to continue on the bloodline!

Zanthia Legacy Chapter 4

September 2, 2009

Screenshot-578Well, last time we left the Zanthia Legacy the family consisted of two children (Juanita and Esmeralda), a toddler (Alfonso) and a baby (Domingo). Juanita takes to spending more time outside the house in the community, and gets some help from some local people with her homework, I think this assignment was something to do with the popularity of high-waisted jeans in Sunset Valley. Juanita was given the Sandy Cheeks shirt to inspire her in her studies, as the squirrel is very scientific.

Screenshot-579Meanwhile, Esmeralda takes a shine to the telescope, even though she requests very early in her life to be a Chess Grand Master, so she must get those logic skills up so she has a chance against the opponents, who can be brutal in their techniques. They must be pretty powerful telescopes to look into space during daylight.

Screenshot-584Night falls, and Grandma Maia returns for a quick game of foosball with her dear daughter, who can only talk about how strong she is getting from all the excersize she has been doing while the kids were at school and while Alfonso and Domingo were taking naps.

Screenshot-593Esmeralda couldn’t wait to square off against Juanita in chess again… but I think in this match Juanita still has the upper hand, one day Esmeralda, one day…

Screenshot-595With Alfonso going well in his toddler activities, Domingo ages up and acquires a blue outfit and a chrome dome. Mother Maia couldn’t help but get Domingo going on the right foot (or was it the left foot?) and doesn’t mind wearing her pyjamas in broad daylight, for her focus is directly on her childrens’ wellbeing.

Screenshot-598Carlos and Esmeralda play catch under the watchful eye of Grandma’s spirit.

Screenshot-599Screenshot-591

Juanita develops the lifetime wish of Illustrious Author (the same as my Simself) so she gets to work on her writing and painting skills. It is quite easy to see that young Juanita is getting a fast grip on the Simlish language and will be able to use it effectively to her heart’s desires one day… whatever they may be.

Screenshot-604But she writes late into the evening, and suddenly stops and has a little wee sparkle. Maia accompanies her on the trumpet and Carlos pretends to play the drums (well, that’s what it looks like anyway) She gains the Lucky trait.

Screenshot-605She ages up into a teenager and grows into the Zanthia hairstyle. Nobody thinks the sparkles are a computer virus, luckily enough.

Screenshot-609The next day, Carlos decides to play in the park for some tips, and to stop him from going stir crazy.

Screenshot-610Our two little bald boys discover the joys of playing together, since for some strange reason they can’t interact with Esmeralda and Juanita is too busy dealing with acne…

Screenshot-615That evening, Alfonso has his birthday and comes into childhood, and scores some hairs on his head, brunette ones like the rest of the family. He scores the Genius trait too (looks like we have a family of brainboxes) Looks like nobody is inheriting Carlos’ black hair… yet. Don’t forget Maia’s LTW is to raise 5 children from babies to teens. 1 down, 4 to go.

Screenshot-617So, like proactive Sims do, Maia got down to business with Carlos once more…

Screenshot-621To avoid certain madness, Maia goes to Central Park, but it was not the odor from the athletic Sims that made her throw up in the good ol’ porcelain throne.

Screenshot-622But it might have been from all those fish in her inventory… but she has a pocket bag that keeps fish cool so it mustn’t be that…

Screenshot-623The kids decided to join Mum at the park after school and do their studies, they seem to be enjoying this particular project.

Screenshot-624Alfonso and Esmeralda couldn’t help squeezing in some Twilight Chess (Esmeralda’s smirking because she knows checkmate is only a few moves away)

Screenshot-626Juanita brings this boy home from school and they spend the afternoon talking rubbish, hmmm, I wonder if his dad’s the garbage man?

Screenshot-629The girls decided to end the night by having a quick swim before bed. (Maia… your togs… they changed? Ooooooh!)

Screenshot-634After sleeping in her togs, Maia has a little snuggle with Domingo.

Screenshot-651And along came Alejandra, our fifth and final child!

What will her traits be? Will she be a good baby? Find out in the next chapter!

Zanthia Legacy- Generation 1, Chapter 3- After the Passing

August 22, 2009

Screenshot-550

We left the Zanthia family in a pickle, old Grandma Maia had passed on and Juanita had just become a child. In grief and wanting to overcome it, young Maia decided to check if her libido was still intact and that the grief had not ruined it. Carlos also had the same overwhelming desire, and became excited (as excitable Sims often do) so, one thing led to another and soon hearts were falling onto their bed again as they made their love.

Screenshot-513Maia felt a little cheered up after this. Even though she was still sad, knowing she was hitched to a sexy man was just what the doctor ordered (except the qualifications of said doctor may be questionable)

Screenshot-511Juanita decided to take out her emotions on the nearest canvas, while Esmeralda and Alfonso continued on life without a care in the world. Juanita wondered why Esmeralda and Alfonso could not comprehend her feelings, before she concluded that they were too young, but at least Esmeralda, the other genius of the family, should understand. Or perhaps Esmeralda was just too smart to say anything in such a tense time around the house.

Screenshot-512Luckily, Esmeralda was able to honour the memory of her great grandma by inheriting the bed, even though deep down she wishes it had a pink bedspread.

Screenshot-515The family decided to call a babysitter and spend a day at the park to let Carlos practise his guitar in front of the people of Sunset Valley. One of the elder women reminded Maia too much of Grandma so they decided to return home.

Screenshot-517Juanita decided to have her first ‘big girl’ swim in the pool, and she loved the calm of the water in the sun of the day, this helped her recovery (even though her moodlet never showed it)

Screenshot-518While Esmeralda took to wrestling Anita (with Alfonso looking on, still wishing to age up)

Screenshot-520But someone decided to inspect the toilet that evening a little too closely… or that’s what Maia told Juanita what she was doing (not good for the daughter really) but I think we know what’s REALLY going on here.

Screenshot-521Juanita got bored and went to bed (that Carlos had brought down to the kids’ room because he didn’t want Juanita to think she was alone, they changed the sheets too for her) She thought the pigs were cute but I don’t think it rains fruit, does it?

Screenshot-533And soon enough Maia’s waters broke and she was rushed to hospital to give birth to this young lad! They named him Domingo and he became an excitable artist. He takes a shine to pop music, cheesesteak and the colour spiceberry (which is probably just a politically correct term for pink!)

Screenshot-524That evening, Grandma arose from her tombstone and young Maia was only to quick to see her again. Grandma told Maia not to worry about her, and to focus on raising a family worthy of the Zanthia name, and that she was already on a good track with young Juanita. Grandma’s first day in the afterlife wasn’t that great, she must’ve been running errands for Bob Marley and got stressed. Also she gives congratulations to Maia for the birth of Domingo.

Screenshot-537In the morning, Juanita went to school fresh as a daisy, and ended up staying later to fix the boiler room (oh that thing always breaks down, why do they use child labour to fix it, and why isn’t the school making enough money to hire a repair technician? Heh, at least I’ll raise my performance to B level on my first day)

Screenshot-538Juanita did find it almighty liberating biking home afterwards, no depending on Mum to get around anymore!

Screenshot-550Meanwhile Esmeralda is having fun with this random boy who turned up at the Zanthia house on the schoolbus (he was supposed to be coming home with Juanita but Juanita didn’t follow him here)

Screenshot-552Until Esmeralda’s birthday arrives and she ages up into…

Screenshot-553This little chess-obsessed girl with clothes like a watermelon (trust me, this will change!) Her third trait was Lucky to help her win chess matches (but she is contesting against her older sister here)

Screenshot-555And our little bloke Alfonso FINALLY gets to age up into the toddler he wanted to be, so he doesn’t miss out on any of the action! He heads straight for the xylophone and Carlos is only too happy to help.

Screenshot-571Esmeralda changes her style and checks herself out in the mirror (she thinks she looks quite alright, an improvement on the watermelon look!)

Screenshot-577A photo of Maia and Carlos with the two boys catching up on some television. Well, we shall leave them there as the author is getting tired and her energy meter is getting low.

The next chapter will bring more fun from the Zanthias, and will there be another bub or will they wait? Will Carlos last that long?

Zanthia Legacy- Generation 1, Chapter 2 Babies and Elders

August 21, 2009

When we last left the legacy, Maia was pregnant again, Carlos became an elder, Juanita became a toddler and Esmeralda was a baby. This was about to change

Screenshot-334Esmeralda grew up! Carlos could not wait to begin talking to her about the joys of wedding bells, so she began to learn to talk from him on their stony dining room floor (example of Grandma Maia being avant-garde huh!)

Screenshot-339Heavily preggers Maia took the responsibility of teaching young Esmeralda to walk her first steps as a toddler (and hopefully soon run these steps on a treadmill!)

Screenshot-347But she went into labour and was rushed to the hospital and came back with a bouncing baby boy named Alfonso, who scored the Artistic trait from his mum and the Friendly trait from another relative (I forgot who). Here he is with Mum and Juanita playing with Mum’s shoes (or is she looking longingly at that treadmill? Oh, you little go-getter!) He likes indie music, fish and chips and the colour purple. Great taste for the colour.

Screenshot-348The Zanthias finally extended their home for the kids, putting them together to help them build tight relationships and become a close-knit family. Here they are all taking a daytime nap. Awww.

Screenshot-350Alfonso gets fed well with his bottle, but tends to be slightly noiser than the girls, but is still quiet nonetheless. Here (and in the photo above) he is temporarily using Esmeralda’s cot for some reason. He must be dissapointed at the colour of the bottle, and not old enough to understand that Mum chose it.

Screenshot-355Meanwhile Juanita makes her own way to the chest of drawers and manages to whipe the textures off the objects in the house (is she trying to hack my system… oh no!) and choses her own clothes for the first time.

Screenshot-365“Check out my new style!” She says to Maia, who lovingly holds her but reminds her that purple is Alfonso’s favourite colour and compliments her for thinking of her brother, even though it’s more of a bluish purple which would also please Carlos. Someone is thinking of men at a young age! You can see the hair colour similarities in this shot.

Screenshot-362Then Grandma Maia begins to change rapidly, she begins to express a lot of darkness through her art, as if she is afraid of something approaching. This happens when you’re an elder Sim nearing the grand olf age of 90 days.

Screenshot-364She becomes heavily engrossed in soap operas, something she had never watched before, and it is considered dangerous to get between Grandma and her ‘stories’

Screenshot-363She has a long heart to heart talk with Maia, expressing how much she is thankful that her granddaughter took her into the house and looked after her (even though she was rich and paid for the whole thing), about how Carlos was the right man for her and how she was proud of her avoiding the others for him, and how well her children were developing.

Screenshot-373She spends a lot of time holding Alfonso and watching her soaps in the bar in her formalwear, and also quite a bit of time with the two toddlers (pictures have gone missing, jeez what a disorganised photographer, I should talk to him about this!)

Screenshot-378And, to a strum of Carlos’ guitar, Juanita ages up into a child, who must be flirty because she’s already thinking of hot stuff!

Screenshot-380But our celebrations were turned into mourning for Grandma Maia as she aged beyond her lifespan. She doesn’t fight muh, she accepts that her time is up and she needs to make way for further generations of her family to continue. Obviously Grandma was unable to find the Death Flower quick enough.

This is sadder for Juanita as she has just had her birthday, poor thing. So, our Sims will spend the next two days in mourning… how will this affect our legacy, will there be more tiny footsteps or will Maia give up because of grief?

Find out in the next chapter of the Zanthia Legacy!

Zanthia Legacy- Generation 1, Chapter 1. Love, Waffles and Baby Girls.

August 21, 2009

Screenshot-59This is Maia Zanthia, the founding Sim of the Zanthia legacy. She is very family orientated, loves the colour green (as can be seen in her choice of sweater), likes waffles (in fact, she’s thinking of eating some rather urgently), is flirty yet lucky and also holds the athletic and artistic traits (who says artists can’t be buff and have families? tsk tsk!). She enjoys listening to classical music to inspire her muse.

Screenshot-60This is Maia’s grandmother, also named Maia Zanthia (but she will be referenced suring the legacy as Grandma Maia, or simply Grandma) She’s an artistic, lucky, family-orientated kleptomaniac who enjoys fishing every now and then. Here is Grandma Maia Zanthia, watching her favourite TV show. She also claims ownership of the Zanthia female hairstyle and prizes it to be a status symbol of belonging to her legacy, if the sim is female. Grandma also chose the colour scheme for the house.

Screenshot-63Annoyed with staying at home and anxious to get her family moving, Maia started cruising Central Park looking for talent. This bloke was as old as Grandma Maia, so here was a no-no, not even for Grandma herself (she is a faithful widow). Also, his shirt did leave quite a lot to be desired, but his long hair was a positive feature. Needed a spunky beard to go with it.

Screenshot-68This guy seemed adorable, but his traits left a lot to be desired for the Zanthia legacy (ooh picky Maia!) The army shorts were kinda a turn-off too.

Screenshot-69This man was not much better, he still had a bicycle t-shirt from his youth, the pants were something I kept away from my Sims and the bleached hair did not match his dark skin. This Eritrean man walked home empty-handed that day.

Screenshot-64She did meet this cute young fella who thought about vegetables when she spoke of Grandma. It was nice to know that he associated fresh vegetables with Grandma Maia, what a positive young man.

Screenshot-65He was also rather adept at grilling, none of those sausages looked burnt to me.

Screenshot-67But it turned out that when she talked to him, she didn’t remember that he was only a teenager and not ready to be a father yet. Baby bottles must have scared him and we all know teenagers are only TOO eager to woohoo without thinking!

Screenshot-61Annoyed at her dismal progress, she went home and fixed herself some waffles. But whilst she was making these she remembered one man who she shook hands with briefly one day. Actually, the memory could not leave her mind as she cooked her waffles.

Screenshot-74This particular man was named Carlos Gonzalez, a young flirty Spaniard from Valencia. He was also a charismatic schmoozer with a green thumb who got very excited when seeing her. They clicked right away as a couple, and their flirtatiousness provided perfect fertilizer for the seeds of love!
The room they are in is the family pub, complete with wide screen TV, Foosball table and bar. This is below-ground, but accidentally became the entrance to the house.

Screenshot-75One thing led to another and in no time they were going steady and they became boyfiend and girlfriend. Also, Maia had the Lucky Day moodlet, so she certainly scored!

Screenshot-86She invited Carlos to stay the night and they slept like logs.

Screenshot-88With her biological clock ticking and her lifetime wish to be surrounded by family, she proposed marriage straight away in the morning, the eager beaver.

Screenshot-90He accepted! The formula seems to work well, man in flame pyjamas= HOT STUFF. They instantly got married.

Screenshot-96And straight to business of making the family Maia dreams about! WOOHOO!

(ps. Carlos is Flirty, Excitable, a Charismatic Schmoozer with a green thumb who likes spaghetti, electronica and blue)

Screenshot-99As for the family, Carlos fitted in straight away, playing guitar music to inspire the Maia Zanthia girls to paint.

Screenshot-104Grandma Maia liked Carlos as a son-in-law, and accepted him, because he was such a schmoozer. And she liked his leather jacket, she felt that her granddaughter had made the right decision.

Screenshot-108The happy couple slept easy that night, as Grandma Maia let them move into the master bedroom. Grandma Maia did not mind the attic.

Screenshot-105Then Maia got a little ill… tsk tsk and their cooking isn’t that bad.
(Note: these are her normal athletic clothes)

Screenshot-115Turns out that she was pregnant (hence the wardrobe malfunction) but this did not keep the athletic sim from excersize! She could not afford looking like a used potato sack after pregnancy.

Screenshot-113

Carlos became excited… and listened to hear the baby kick. He’s hoping for a little girl to grow up to be like Maia, artistic, flirty, athletic and lucky but he knew that this is a rare combination that only comes along once in a purple moon. (Purple moons= rarer than blue moons)

Screenshot-118And what kind of grandma wouldn’t be interested in her great-grandchild? Oooh… I think she heard something! Another athletic Sim on the way?

Screenshot-119After a brief hospital visit, Maia emerged happily with little Juanita Zanthia in her arms. Juanita recieved the Athletic and Artistic traits from her mum. She likes pink, grilled cheese and independently-produced music. Two of Maia’s traits in one Sim- Carlos will be pleased.

Screenshot-121Juanita got a cute little pink cot in the master bedroom (since they were too lazy to renovate) and a new teddy bear named Anita (the last part of her name). She seems peaceful and happy.

Screenshot-122Maia loved her new baby, she had Carlos’ olive skin and her femininity and traits.

Screenshot-120Screenshot-130Carlos and Grandma Maia also instantly took a shine to their new daughter, Juanita was a very popular girl indeed.

Screenshot-127They continued life on as ‘normal’ but some severe wardrobe malfunction happened again, the pink athletic top was gone and the blue maternity top was in. So she decided to train her man because she could not use the treadmill being pregnant and all.

Screenshot-132Out popped little Esmeralda Zanthia (she was born at the hospital, but the lazy cameraman missed the taxi) , with the traits Excitable from her father and Genius from her unknown grandfather (Grandma Maia’s son, young Maia’s father). She likes Latin music, Fruit Parfaits and Green like mum.

Screenshot-133Carlos gives little Esmeralda a snuggle

Screenshot-135and little Juanita ages up into this cute little toddler (love the hair!)

Screenshot-137Maia moves in swiftly to teach Juanita how to talk about dental hygeine

Screenshot-140Carlos teaches Juanita how to walk

Screenshot-144And Maia takes care of the messier side of things… the notorious potty.

Screenshot-146Then Carlos stops his running and is enveloped by a mysterious glow.

Screenshot-147And he becomes an old man (lacking in fashion sense!) Luckily he is still reproductive…

Screenshot-149Maia didn’t know this, and went straight for the ‘guilt free’ woohoo!

Screenshot-160but a guilty trip to the loo for non-food-related heaving and new maternity clothes (see below image)

Screenshot-163can only mean one thing… Maia’s pregnant again! She takes some time out to read books to Juanita to expand the toddler’s already growing brain.

Who will be the new baby? Tune in to the next episode to find out!
